At a meeting of interested brothers, it was agreed that there are many Islamic international charitable organisations in Australia to cater for the needs of the poor and needy, the sick and suffering around the world in times of disaster and at other times, but none specifically for the South Pacific Region. From our experience we had to pass all the funds collected to these organizations and it took a lot of time for disbursement to reach the grass-root people. It was also realized that how and where these funds were used was not made known to the donors and the public, in other words there was no transparency. In conclusion it was agreed that a registered body was needed to cater not only for natural disasters but also to investigate cases of humanitarian aid such as poverty, help to orphans, widows and destitute, contributing towards medical bills, housing schemes for the poor and granting of funds to needy students, especially in Fiji and other South Pacific island countries. All these considerations led to the birth of HARF Inc. in 2018 in Brisbane, Australia.
